On May 4, the 46th anniversary of the Ria Formosa Natural Park will be celebrated with an Open Day at the Centro de Educação Ambiental de Marim!

The Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, the most important wetland in southern Portugal, stretches from Ancão to Manta Rota, covering the municipalities of Loulé, Faro, Olhão, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António.

This Natural Park is made up of a great diversity of habitats, such as barrier islands, salt marshes, dunes, salt pans, freshwater lagoons, watercourses and forests, harbouring a singular biodiversity.

During the park’s Open Day, various activities will be organised to publicise and promote all these natural values.
