This project aimed to contribute to the naturalisation work in the Parque da Paz in Almada, promoting the implementation of conservation measures that are pioneering in Portugal and that are absolutely essential for freshwater ecosystems throughout the country.
Objectives
Implementation of measures to remove invasive exotic turtles from the park’s lakes;
Environmental awareness raising on the issue.
Intended Audience
Elementary school students from the Almada council
General population
Actions
Capturing invasive exotic turtles and relocating them to appropriate locations.
Carrying out environmental awareness activities on the issue of invasive turtles.
Creating content for information panels.
Duration
9 months (December 2020 to August 2021)
